I would check out craft stores like Michael%26#039;s or JoAnne%26#039;s. I would also look at Walmart. Sometimes I am surprised by some of the craft items they carry. Plus they are cheaper than some of the craft stores.

Does anyone know where I can purchase an 'animal' design mini fridge on line?
I want to purchase a mini fridge for my cousin%26#039;s girls. So they can keep mini bottled waters in it and just have something cool in their room. Where may I purchase plastic loop straps to be used with luggage/diaper bag ID tags.?
I have been creating luggage/pocketbook/diaper bag tags by using scrapbook materials. I then use a plastic luggage tag or a baseball card plastic holder to enclose the tag. On one side of the tag are initials or name, and the other is the friend%26#039;s favorite sorts of things(sports, flowers, etc...). They are so cute, but I can%26#039;t find the plastic loopy things, unless I want to purchase 500!!! They look like a clear plastic 8-9%26quot; flexible rubber band. My daughter has purchased silk roses (singles) for her wedding cake. HOW the heck do I arrange these so that they are ready to go on the cake? I would just rather purchase them already made! Are you having the cake made through a bakery? If so, then you should be able to give the silk flowers to them so that they arrange them on the cake. If not then you could cut of the stem of the flowers and simply place them on top of the cake like a bouquet. A florist would also be able to help out with this.

it depends on the flowers themselves, and of course the condition they were in when you got them.
you are safe to keep flowers out of water for probably a couple of days, but keep in mind that it will lower the entire life of the flowers. the best thing is of course to get them in water right away.

I purchased a gorgeous ORchid Phalaenopsis flower from Lowes about a month ago. It has 8 flowers on it, but I am noticing now that four of the flowers are starting to wilt. Also I noticed that the stem that the wilting flowers are attached to (not the spike but the individual flower stems) are turning from a healthy green to like a yellow.
Is this just the normal part of the flowering cycle or is something wrong with my plant? The leaves and the roots look healthy. The leaves are stiff and the roots are green (most of them).

Best wild flowers for the edge of woods?
I want to buy some flower seeds to throw out at the edge of the woods on our property. I%26#039;m thinking I might like a seed mix where flowers bloom at different times during the year. I need something that is easy to plant since I want to cover a large area so throwing out some seeds would work out well.
My hobby is digital photography so I would like to plant something that is eye appealing and that attracts butterfilies, bees, etc.
Also, where can I find a good deal on flower seeds? Do I purchased these online or local?
I am located in northern Alabama.

I have, in general, found that tossing seeds in areas results in feeding the ants, birds, and so on... I presume... because I rarely see plants. It would be a waste of money. The only time I have had success is when I had heaping amounts of wild flower seed, harvested from daisies and black eyed susans and the like, and scattered them in a waste area. I did get flowers from that, but I would suspect that one in 100 seeds sprouted. Which is why they make so many!!!
You%26#039;d do better getting plants or growing them in the spring in little pots and planting them out. You can OFTEN get divisions of plants from friends and neighbors and family. If you want buy seeds, take a look at Wildseed Farms catalog, which is in fact recommended by the Alabama Wildflower Advisory. Both links are in Sources.
If you purchase flowers, take a look at the Wildseed Farms catalog as a reference. It has a ton and a half of info, and these wilder flowers are great for woodland edges.

You might want to try laying out the seeds then covering them with a thin layer of hay and chicken wire (to keep the hay in place) so the seeds stay where they are suppose to. My hobby is photography as well! Good Luck!

OK, a few thoughts -- first, if you are traveling during the day, you want to have the flowers precooled, so buy them from a shop where they are stored in a cooler and keep them in your fridge if you don%26#039;t leave right away. Precool your car, as well. Heat will wilt the flowers immediately. If you have a large enough cooler, use it! Place cooler packs (not ice, though!) to keep the flowers cool but not frozen in there and place the flowers in as well. If you can get an arrangement that is stuck into green Oasis foam, that would be good, because then you can be sure that there is water for the stems. You can stand the cooler on its end if you have to. If you do not have a cooler or don%26#039;t want to run the AC, be sure that you do not let the wind blow on the flowers!! Wrap them in paper.

For such a long travel I suggest you buy the flowers on the way somewhere as late as possible, or maybe choose a nice flowering Plant instead.
I suppose you could also stick them in a vase, in a cardboard box. Wine boxes have the section inserts (for bottles) to hold the vase in place. But remember the warmth inside the car will open the buds fast.

I would cover the windows with some type of tint, so that you dont get a large amount of heat transfer from the windows to the plants themselves. (Heat destroys plants! Unless they are the desert varieties).
Cover the plants with a film of some sort, so that its tinted and will not get harmful rays and fumes from the car. Water them before you go, so they are not dry..(not to much, just enough to get the soil moist).
A bit of miracle grow in them will not hurt either.
After that, have a great safe trip.

You would probably have a better chance getting a lotus plant and growing your own. They grow in ponds like water lillies. You can grown them in a large bucket or tub provided you have sufficient sunlight. They die back in the winter and only flower in the summer so it might be a while before you get anything.
You can get the plants online or usually at Lowes or Homedepot in the spring.

You would probably have a better chance getting a lotus plant and growing your own. They grow in ponds like water lillies. You can grown them in a large bucket or tub provided you have sufficient sunlight. They die back in the winter and only flower in the summer so it might be a while before you get anything.
You can get the plants online or usually at Lowes or Homedepot in the spring.

Looking for silk flowers with 17 2-tone petals some with glittered edges, 1" ball glitter centers for angels.
Does anyone know what kind of flowers these are or where I can purchase them? These silk flowers have very long stems with about 17 petals. I purchased some silk flowers that had fake %26quot;water droplets%26quot; on them. They were beautiful! Store personnel were unable to tell me how it was done.

So questioner-- use one of the web sites folks have given you and see if you have the right name. I would not be surprised the shrub is Spirea. In fact, many Queen Anne style houses have lots of Spirea around the porch, along with flowering almond and another one I can%26#039;t remember that also blooms pink at the same time-- no, not Forsythia-- but they are planted with that group, too.

Has anyone purchased wedding flowers from Albertsons? They had some brochures and it looks good and looks like a good deal..
What do you think? I know the quality may not be 5 star quality but I am on a budget and the most important to me is reliability - will they be there when they say they will - with what they say they will bring?

Try the folks at Nor%26#039;east Roses (1) or George Mander (2), a Canadian hybridizer. If they won%26#039;t/can%26#039;t, they might know someone who can.
And Jackson and Perkins offers you the opportunity to name a rose after someone, if you can afford $75,000. (3)

Reply:Very sweet idea. You might be able to convince a smaller rose breeder to do this for you, though they usually name them after family or famous people. Try the folks at Nor%26#039;east Roses (1) or George Mander (2), a Canadian hybridizer. If they won%26#039;t/can%26#039;t, they might know someone who can.
And Jackson and Perkins offers you the opportunity to name a rose after someone, if you can afford $75,000. (3)

Reply:Contact a rose grower and put your case. It might be difficult. How about a different plant or a local hybridist who might be sympathetic if you put a good case.
