i would like to purchase a flower ie-: rose etc. that can be named after a very special lady who will be 90 in september

I hope when I turn 90 someone will be that caring for me. It%26#039;s not that far off! 68 going to be 69 (9/25/38) So tell her HAPPY BIRTHDAY!


Flowers with names are selected prior to release for the general public but you can call it what ever you like.

Reply:Well....i%26#039;m pretty sure that once you buy the flowers you can call them whatever you want :) Other than that, maybe do a google search of the lady%26#039;s name+flower and see if anything comes up. Or find out if a particular flower is associated with the month of September (i searched for this and there were several answers).
Reply:You won%26#039;t be able to get a flower named after anyone but you might be able to find a plant that is already named with the same or similar name.

Enter her first name in the search box and so long as it is not too unusual it should give you a list plants that have that name together with details of the nurseries that can supply them.

Reply:Very sweet idea. You might be able to convince a smaller rose breeder to do this for you, though they usually name them after family or famous people. Try the folks at Nor%26#039;east Roses (1) or George Mander (2), a Canadian hybridizer. If they won%26#039;t/can%26#039;t, they might know someone who can.





And Jackson and Perkins offers you the opportunity to name a rose after someone, if you can afford $75,000. (3)

Reply:Contact a rose grower and put your case. It might be difficult. How about a different plant or a local hybridist who might be sympathetic if you put a good case.
